Message from Pastor Redfield

There’s nothing like a “good night’s sleep”. You can wake up on the sunny side of life, refreshed and ready to meet the day. Bad night’s sleep: just the opposite, not so sunny and not so cheery.

Prescription for a good night’s sleep: hard work, as the proverb states, “rest is the sweet sauce of labor, and putting ‘our cares and concerns in the hands of The Lord, who helps us ‘lie down and sleep in peace’.”

“Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep…”

And then, there is that final sleep John Ylvisaker writes about in his song, Borning Cry. “And when the evening gently closes in, and you shut your weary eyes, I’ll be there as I’ve always been with, just one more surprise…”. When this earthly life is over, we awaken to our eternal destiny: life with God and all the saints who have gone before us. What a day that will be!

Until that day, remember to lie down in peace, knowing that The Lord God is with us now and forever.

Peace be with you.

 Pastor Guy
