Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata, December 10th at 7:00 pm

The Chancel Choir will present their annual Christmas Cantata on Saturday, Dec. 10th at 7:00 p.m. This year’s presentation is entitled “A Weary World Rejoices” by Joseph M. Martin.  The Choir is directed by Bruce Kamrath, accompanied by Mary Kamrath with narration by Bob Rogers and members of the choir. A number of soloist’s will be featured including Marissa Fortin, Marcus Meyer, Karen Theesfeld, Brittany Kamrath and Emily Magee.

From Joseph Martin: “In the weary days of winter, when peace seems like a distant dream, as wounded songs shiver in the night and shadows fall heavy upon the heart, unexpectedly, at just the perfect time, the hope of Christmas begins to glow. Like a golden ember of promise burning in the soul, our frozen hearts start to warm. Our fragile faith begins to stir and we reach past the snowy silence and remember the ancient star songs. We search the treasured words of the prophets, and we gather to our sacred spaces to reflect and remember. There, in the serenity of worship, faint music begins to fall like a gentle snow upon our longing. Softly at first, a mysterious whisper, a mother’s sigh, a baby’s cry, and then a crescendo of wonders on angels’ wings. Gloria in excelsis Deo.  Redeemed, restored and renewed, we join the music.  Awakened by grace, we rejoice, and our world is changed forever.”

A time of fellowship will follow the service downstairs with coffee and desserts.  All are welcome. Free admission.
